So much prep......

Here we go again! After a very frustrating and stressful few weeks, everything has suddenly boiled down to the fact that yes, we can go on our mega Scandi trip in just 11 days time, as Lyn's new job (long story!) will start on September 2nd.

So what exactly does this trip entail? Basically me ( organiser, cook, fashion advisor, blogger, shopper and dreamer) and my better half Lyn, (driver, security, financial investor and he who sees to all things practical!). We will be heading off in our motor home Harvey the RV for 32 nights, heading to Norway via the Channel Tunnel. We are getting a ferry from Kiel to Gothenberg, then a few nights in Stockholm, then up through Sweden before driving into Norway and into the Arctic Circle. We are planning on a few weeks of wild camping, and seeing the island of Senja and Vesteralen and then down into the Lofoten Islands, before heading back down the Atlantic Coast before heading down to Oslo for a night or two. Ferry back then to Denmark and the long drive home.

In the interests of honest reporting I must admit that this is not a holiday I am particularly looking forward to; definitely Lyn's choice this year! I expect to see some dramatic and sunning scenery, and am looking forward to hopefully a whale watching trip and maybe a bit of kayaking and SUPing, but i must admit I am nervous about the sheer distances involved, the cost of EVERYTHING in Norway, the weather, and also whether it will get a bit "samey"....."oh look, another mountain"......."oh look, another view of the sea". Hopefully I'll be proved wrong (won't that be annoying, as I am never wrong!) and it will turn out to be a holiday to remember,
